Around every corner there’s always something that lies ready to take your breath away. So open your eyes and let South Africa lift your soul with its absolutely breathtaking scenery!

Blyde River

Among mountains that look like they’ve been painted on the horizon and wide open panoramas that run further than your eyes can see, an elastic thread of tarmac transports you through a country that shifts and changes right before your eyes. From some of the world’s most ancient landscapes like the awe-inspiring plains of the lonely Karoo to the Limpopo bushveld and the incredible Tsitsikamma Forest, secluded beaches or the valleys of some of the most beautiful Winelands you will ever see, you can’t help but feel you are somewhere special.

Winelands

Let us introduce you to our places of wonder that make us swell with pride and take our breaths away again and again. Come stand at the top of the mesmerising Blyde River Canyon and feel your eyes try in vain to take in every inch of this enormous artwork of nature. Crane your neck up to see the mind-blowing peaks of the Drakensberg Mountains rising above you like gigantic castle towers and explore the world’s largest collection of ancient San Rock Art preserved on their rock faces and hidden caves. And, if you stick around for the cool winter months you might get to see these famous mountains capped in pure white snow. From here follow the path of their foothills into the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands and get lost in a world of artists’ villages, cool streams, farms dotted with plump cattle and friendly guesthouses all enriched with African culture and locals that absolutely love sharing their beautiful part of the country.

Every day in scenic South Africa ends with a horizon to look out on. Whether you enjoy it with friends, welcoming locals or just by yourself as you contemplate the world going by, it’s sure to create the kinds of memories that will stay with you forever. ABOUT AMANDA SAMPAIO

Amanda Sampaio

A bit about me: I am Rhodesian born, grew up in Zululand, South Africa. Post matriculation, I studied a 3 year Travel & Tourism National Diploma; I then spent 7.5 years (during the mid-90’s) working in various operational roles for SAA at the old Durban Airport; My husband, son & I then moved to the UK and lived in south-west London (Worcester Park) for 10.5 years – I worked for 3.5 years in Local Government (at Epsom & Ewell Borough Council) and then for 7 years for QANTAS as part of the Cabin Crew Ground Management Team based at Heathrow and later with Qantas Corporate Sales based in their London Hammersmith office. My family and I have been back in South Africa for almost 3 years now (having missed too much of our family, SA sunshine and braai’s) and during our time back, we are also delighted to have welcomed our 17 month old baby girl into our family! Travel is definitely my passion and is in my ‘blood’ as I am firmly back in the travel seat with my current role within Sales and Marketing at iGo Travel and look after this for our newly launched brand ‘iGO Africa’.
